Get BOLD! Try a New Dance


If you come to the Salsa Central Denver weekly lessons and dance at the Denver Turnverien—you probably have noticed that there is a lot going on in the building. There’s dancing almost every night of the week in the beautiful ballroom. Consider trying a new dance style.  Learning a new dance will help make you become a better all-around dancer. Give a new dance a try!

If you are Turnverein member you will get in at a discount. If you are not—the prices are still very reasonable. Check the websites for each organization for the latest pricing. Here’s what’s going on:

Sunday- West Coast Swing 5:30 – 9:30 pm

Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Club  6:30 until 9:30 pm. Beginner and other classes start at 5:30.

West Coast Swing is a form of swing dancing that involves the follower traveling back in forth past the leader in what we call an imaginary “slot”, as opposed to around the room like waltz. The music is a moderate tempo and includes the genre of blues, classic R&B or contemporary R&B primarily. It’s cousin dances are Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, and Jitterbug. Monday – Ballroom 7:00 until 10:00 pm

Denver Turnverein hosts ballroom lessons every Monday. The dance styles for the classes vary each month. Check the calendar to get the latest.

Tuesday – Argentine Tango  6:30 pm – close

Tango Colorado present three Argentine Tango classes 6:30 – 7:30 Beginner 1 and 2 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm Intermediate. Practica/dance follows lessons.

 Wednesday- Salsa, Bachata, Rueda

Salsa Central Denver hosts Salsa and Bachata and Rueda dancing & class every Wednesday. Lessons are from around 7:00- 8:00 pm. The beginner Salsa and Rueda classes are included with the admission price ($5 members and $10 for non-members. Intermediate Salsa and Bachata are $5 additional paid to the teacher. Community dance and open dancing follows the lessons.

Thursday- Country Dance and Class

Denver Turnverein hosts class 6:30 to 7:30 pm  followed by a dance.  No partner needed.
