Join Salsa Central Denver every Wednesday at the Denver Turnverein for the weekly Salsa Social; low pressure, high quality, and lots of great instruction and practice all in one place!

In conjunction with the SCD Teacher’s Association, Salsa Central Denver puts on a weekly Salsa Social where you can meet new people in the dance community, learn new moves and styling from the best teachers in Denver, and take advantage of the open dancing to practice what you learn.
 

Located at the historic Denver Turnverein, the Salsa Social features a 4,000 square foot dance floor, rotating DJs, a cash bar, and a video library for SCD/DTV members to rent instructional and performance Salsa DVDs.
 

7:00pm – 8:00pm Basic Footwork Class (drop-in)
7:00pm – 8:00pm Intermediate Technique Class (additional $5)
7:00pm - 8:00pm Basic Partnering Class (drop-in)
8:00pm Community Dance (“get acquainted” to others in the community)
8:15pm – 10:30pm Open Dancing, rotating DJs
 

Cover: $5 for SCD/DTV members, $10 non-members
*includes all open dancing and all classes except “Intermediate Technique”
 

Basic Footwork Class (drop-in) Included in the cover charge, and well worth the money! This class is for the beginning student who has little or no Salsa instruction. Students will learn all foundational skills needed to progress to the Basic Partnering Class. Students may need to repeat this class (and are welcome to do so!) until they master the basics and are comfortable with Salsa footwork and body movement.
 

Intermediate Technique ($5) The next step in learning to be a good “Salsero” is the Intermediate Technique Class. After mastering the basics, students can advance to more specific instruction about lead/follow, combinations, patterns, and other important skills that will help with confidence on the dance floor.
 

Basic Partnering (drop-in) Once you're comfortable with your own footwork, it's time to incorporate a partner. After all, this IS a partner dance... The basic partnering class will teach you all of the fundamental Salsa moves; including the basic, cross-body lead, simple turns, and other building blocks to establish a strong Salsa foundation.
 

Downstairs: Intermediate, Advanced, & Variety Workshops Each month, a different SCD instructor or special guest instructor will teach a unique and FUN series of classes from 7:00pm – 8:00pm every Wednesday.
